MACC’s One Love Century

All – I hope everyone is having a great summer of riding.  The Metro Atlanta Cycling Club’s  biggest event of the year is coming up in a little over two weeks – our One Love Century.  In most years we raise enough funds to donate more than $15,000 to organizations that work with inner city youth/cycling/outdoor activities.

Routes from 16 miles to 101 (although the MTMS crowd is only interested in the 3 digit distances, right?).  We promise you a lot fewer hills than you found in Asheville, but enough rolling hills and twisting pavement to keep you interested.  In most years we have 800+ attendees from more than a dozen states. Great food, a party after, and the most friendly volunteers to be found anywhere at the rest stops and along the route.  All of this for less than $50!!

We hope you can join us.  Here is a quick run down of the weekend’s events:

Friday, September 2:  Ride with MACC in this pre-OLC warmup on Friday morning.  After ~35 miles in the same part of town as the big event on Saturday, we will gather for socializing around some great beer, Rhonda and Ricky’s famous fried fish, and other potluck goodies.

Saturday, September 3:  Wheels rolling at 8 AM for one of the best centuries in the South – on roads we call Silk Sheets, through horse farms and rural towns.  Check out the registration page here.

Sunday, September 4:  If you have anything left after Saturday, join Ride Coordinator Supreme Drew Jackson for a recovery ride on Sunday morning.
